1. IoT Central Manager

SPTel provides the hardware and software tools with a unified and central platform required by customers for application deployment, device data collection and storage for device management. Features include:

•          IoT platform management portal

•          Application repository for Customer’s application deployment

•          Overall device management

•          Multi-protocol data ingestion

•          Secure unstructured data storage

•          Secure device enrollment and authentication

•          Application repository for Customer’s application deployment

2. IoT Multi-Edge Compute (MEC)

IoT MEC in substations delivers computing closer to the source and minimizes latency and bandwidth consumption. MEC supports deployment of virtual machines/containers and includes GPU computing resources to support IoT application deployment and storage for data collection.

•          CPU, RAM and data storage for running applications at the MEC

•          GPU compute resource

•          Elastic IP address

3. IoT Edge

Secured hardware for different types of sensor data aggregation at various locations, i.e. Wi-Fi and/or LoRa Edge gateways. 3 different subscription models are available:

•          Shared Gateway subscription – Customers subscribe to SPTel’s default Wi-Fi & LoRa gateways to aggregate and transport own traffic to the IoT platform

•          Dedicated Gateway – Customers subscribe for dedicated Wi-Fi & LoRa gateways to aggregate and transport own traffic to the IoT platform

•          Bring Your Own (BYO) Gateway – Customers can supply their own Edge gateway for integration to the IoT platform, subject to compatibility

4. IoT Backhaul Connectivity

IP connectivity service using SPTel’s IPVPN, from Dedicated and BYO IoT Edge to IoT Central Manager and between different MEC sites for data flow according to customer’s business needs.

5. IoT NiFi

IP connectivity service using SPTel’s IPVPN, from Dedicated and BYO IoT Edge to IoT Central Manager and between different MEC sites for data flow according to customer’s business needs. IoT NiFi supports the use of analytics by converting the data into the format wanted through data processing (cleanse, transform, process). Key features are:

  • create multiple data ingestion points
  • more than hundreds of readily available processors to transform and process data
  • set multiple destinations if necessary, to store the processed data
